This project was a 1979 single family home with a concrete block foundation and unfinished basement used for storage and laundry. There was presence of mold on the basement walls and sporadic water seepage. The main concern was the homeowner did not want the mold to spread throughout the basement and ultimately reach the living space above.
Waterproofing services were installed in 1991 to address three specific areas of concern for Ted, all located on the front wall. In 1996, Ted expanded the scope of work to include the entire front wall and left side wall. This work included an interior floor drainage system, sump pump and exterior stairwell drain. In 2023, Ted decided to finish the job and hired BWN to waterproof the remaining two walls, the right side and rear walls. We were able to integrate all four walls into one cohesive system.
We were able to accommodate Ted’s deliberate approach to waterproofing his basement by phasing in the walls each step of the way. The important point is Ted had confidence that each phase was able to build on the other without complication. We could say, this 32 year long project has now come to a successful completion. Now that the basement is waterproofed in full, Ted no longer goes down to the basement to check when it rains.
