This existing basement window will be replaced by the new egress window and well.
Here you can see the exterior location of the egress window. After the wall is cut to the exact egress opening dimensions, the foundation wall is reinforced with concrete. The structural steel frame and impact resistant window was then installed into the opening. The galvanized steel egress window well was placed in the excavated hole and permanently attached to the exterior foundation wall. A substantial drain with grated cover and sump pump was installed in the base of the new egress well to protect the basement and egress window from water penetration.
Here you can see the completed installation of the egress window, well, and sump pump with hinged cover. The landscaping was restored to its original design around the egress well.
